City officials cut ribbon on Fountain Row entertainment destination center

Summary: Bowling Green is the 13th city in Kentucky to launch an entertainment destination center since the State of Kentucky adopted legislation in 2016 allowing municipalities to create them.

Downtown BGKY Merchant & Stakeholder Meet Up Recap - July 2022

Fountain Row entertainment destination center officially launches July 15

Summary: Launched by the City on July 15, Fountain Row is the name of the Entertainment Destination Center in Downtown BGKY. In Kentucky, a City may hold an “Entertainment Destination Center” license allowing carrying of alcohol in public spaces in approved cups within set boundaries and times.

Flexible Neighborhood Grants to Focus on Targeted Neighborhoods, Including Those Damaged by Tornadoes

Summary: The City of Bowling Green's neighborhood grant program will focus more than $70K for projects benefitting tornado-damaged neighborhoods or located in the BG Reinvestment Area. Applications are considered on a first come, first serve basis with no deadline to apply.

City issues temporary burn ban

City celebrates new American citizens

Roadwork to begin on Rockingham/Westen roundabout

Summary: The roadwork will result in the closures of portions of Rockingham Avenue and Westen Street. Rockingham Avenue will be closed near the intersection. Westen Street will be closed from Patrick Way to Rockingham Avenue.

Reception for New U.S. Citizens on June 16

Summary: The City of Bowling Green is hosting a reception to recognize individuals who have become naturalized United States Citizens since September 2019. The annual Reception for New Americans will take place on Thursday, June 16 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Two City employees recognized at Saturday's Women of Achievement Awards

Summary: Two City employees were among those recognized at Saturday’s Women of Achievement Awards presented by the Bowling Green Human Rights Commission (HRC). Bowling Green Mayor Todd Alcott was on hand to greet attendees at the event.

Bowling Green City Clerk named Clerk of the Year

Summary: The Kentucky Municipal Clerks Association named Bowling Green City Clerk Ashley Jackson as the 2022 Clerk of the Year. Jackson began working for Bowling Green in 2006 as Assistant City Clerk. She was promoted to City Clerk in 2018.

#BGGovToGo Returns With Community Block Party Downtown
